HONG KONG’S MOST INTERESTING & ENGAGING

ART EXPERIENCE IN MARCH

Meet 60 Artists at the Asia

With just six weeks to go until the opening of the sixth edition of the Asia Contemporary Art Show, excitement is mounting with a growing list of artists planning to be at the four-day event. And with over 100 exhibitors from 19 countries, the Show is expected to again be the largest satellite art fair to Art Basel Hong Kong this Spring.

“The Asia Contemporary Art Show opens with our exclusive VIP Collectors Preview on Thursday evening, March 12th,” said Mark Saunderson, Director of Asia Contemporary Art Ltd. “VIP guests and ticket holders will have the first opportunity to see the 3,000 artworks on display and meet many of the artists, before the Show opens to the public on Friday 13th from 1pm.

“Having so many artists present and from such diverse backgrounds really sets us apart, and provides a far more interesting and engaging experience for collectors and art buyers than at most art fairs. The artists love it too, because they can explain the inspiration behind their works, and learn what Hong Kong collectors like and value.”

JULIA CARTER (AUSTRALIA) – Room 4305

Popular Australian artist Julia Carter returns to the Asia Contemporary Art Show, with a new series of paintings. "As it's my third time exhibiting at this amazing show, it will be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with previous buyers and collectors who loved my work. I'm looking forward to sharing my new series of paintings ‘Spring Sensation’ which celebrates the vibrancy and vitality of the season," she said.

LEAH POLLER (USA) – Room 4322

Renowned New York-based sculptor Leah Poller received classical training in sculpture at the prestigious Ecole Nationale Superieure de Beaux Arts in Paris, and then pursued her art in France, Spain, Italy and Latin America for many years. Returning to the United States in 1992, she had a serious accident that sent her to bed for an extended period of time – and also became the inspiration for her wonderfully quirky collection: "The 101 Bed Collection.” Poller has been featured on CNN, Fox Television and in numerous art publications.

RAINBOW TSE (HONG KONG) – Room 4224

At just 18 years of age, local Hong Kong resident Rainbow Tse has caught our eye as an artist with great potential! This talented young artist specializes in watercolors, painting mainly cityscapes and landscapes, and shows a mature appreciation of light, shadow, mood, colour and atmosphere. When not painting, Rainbow is studying for her International Baccalaureate, and hopes to pursue her studies in the United Kingdom.

ARNAUD & ADELINE NAZARE-AGA (THAILAND) – Room 4225

Husband and wife sculptors Arnaud and Adeline Nazare-Aga were brought up in two completely different worlds, France and the Philippines, and now work in a large studio in Bangkok, where they collaborate with other craftsmen, artisans and galleries to bring their lively sculptures to life. Inspired by voluptuous forms and gentle roundness, the colorful sculptures radiate a sense of wholesomeness and innocence, simultaneously sending vibes of sensuality.

DAVID WELLS (AUSTRALIA) – Room 4320

David Wells is one of Australia’s foremost painters of portraits executed in pastels. The artist has exhibited extensively, and has been awarded over 30 prizes. His work has been published regularly in international journals, and has featured on the covers of “The Artist’s Magazine” (2009) and “The Pastel Journal (2009 and 2014). Says Wells of his art: "I believe that a living person is more interesting than any artwork ever made; therefore, everyone is a masterpiece waiting to be painted.”

SAVERIO LUCCI (ITALY) – Room 4409

Accomplished Italian painter Saverio Lucci is also an interior designer, stylist, stage designer for theatres, and art restorer. His beautiful works reflect the techniques of the great masters and his passion for history, and have been widely exhibited in Milan, Venice, Moscow, Dubai and Bangkok. “I’m so happy to be coming back to stunning Hong Kong and presenting my newest paintings at the Asia Contemporary Art Show,” says the artist.

MO SHAH (USA/HONG KONG) – Room 4423

Mo Shah is an exceptionally talented photographer and visual artist, currently living and working in Hong Kong. Born in Pakistan, he began his art career in New York, after graduating from New York University. Shah’s focus is on film-based pop art, and he is often drawn to the themes of isolation and cross-cultural tension. His work is inspired by his wide-ranging travel and interest in existentialism, surrealism, music and the occult.
