评论: A Precisionist painter best known for his architectonic urban scenes of the 1920s-30s, by the 1940s he was turning toward Surrealism ó but he died in a flood in Woodstock, NY! Ault"s father owned a printing ink company (he introduced American printing ink to Europe) and in 1899 moved his family to London. After studying art in London, Ault went to NYC in 1911. He painted in Provincetown, MA, 1922-27; and in Bermuda, in 1922. In 1937 he and his wife permanently moved to Woodstock, NY.
