评论: After moving to Los Angeles, Kienholz founded the Now Gallery in 1956 and in 1957 co-founded the Ferus Gallery; both galleries were among the earliest avant-garde venues in the city. His early assemblages consisted of pieces of wood, nailed together and painted with a broom. He began incorporating such things as toys and mannequin parts into his assemblages in the late 1950s. By the early 1960s he had begun making large, room-size tableaus which functioned as environments, with life-sized figures and found objects.
