评论: James C. was the son of Edward and Mary Sharp and elder brother of William Comely Sharp (see entry). He worked as a lithographer in the early 1840's when he was a partner with his distant relative William Sharp (see entry) in the firm of W. & J.C. Sharp (from c.1841-42). The firm produced sheet music covers and at least one portrait. From 1844 until 1845, James C. Sharp shared an address with his brother William Comely Sharp, and in mid-1844 sold William C. his lithographic stones, paper, and stock. James apparently gave up lithography in 1845. His name is absent from the Boston directories until 1866; from then until the 1880's he is listed as a teacher of natural sciences.
