评论: Worked with Asaph Willard, Hartford , CT (c.1820) before moving to Boston, where he worked as a lithographer for Pendleton's Lithorgraphy firm from 1826-29. All known lithographs of his were published by the firm during this time. Also, with his brother Seth (see entry), he made twenty-one engravings after works by Washington Allston. He spent the early 1830's in Europe, and upon his return in 1835 chose to focus on engraving, illustrating books and periodicals. He gave up engraving after 1857, and spent much of his time in travel both in Europe and America.
