评论： He became a Director of the South Carolina Academy of Fine Arts in 1821. It was probably James rather than Joseph Wood (see entry), who engraved a view of the South Carolina Medical College in 1826. In 1828 he made a plaster cast of the medal presented to Lafayette by the National Guards of Paris.
