After moving back to her native NYC c.1905, she continued her association with Washington, DC, exhibiting there in the 1920s and 1930s and maintaining a friendship with Alice Pike Barney (see entry). Thompson painted a portrait of Mrs. Coolidge at the White House in 1927; she also produced likenesses of President Coolidge, President Wilson, and Wilson's cabinet.
