评论: He came to San Francisco in 1893, where his stepfather was consul-general. After six years in Paris, he became one of San Francisco's famous bohemians, known by his colorful attire. All his work was lost in the 1906 fire and he moved to the hills of Piedmont. Illustrator: El Zarco, pub. W.W. Norton. Position: teacher, Calif. Sch. Arts &Crafts, 1908-42. On the day of his death, the California Legislature adjourned early in his memory.
