评论: She overcame three suicide attempts in the 1920s to emerge as an acclaimed painter of the female figure and the urban working class which she observed around her Union Square studio. She was the only female member of the "Fourteenth Street School" with her good friends, Reginald Marsh, the Soyer brothers, and K.H. Miller. Bishop produced less than 200 canvases. Illustrator: Pride and Prejudice (Book-of-the-Month-Club Edition), 1946. Teacher: instructor of figure painting & drawing, ASL, NYC, 1935-37; Skowhegan School Painting & Sculpture, 1956, 1958.
