评论: Immigrated to the U.S. in 1905 and worked in Wisconsin (Dakota?) as a sheep herder before moving to Los Angeles. There he made sketching trips into the desert and started painting landscapes. Married artist and author Mary Marsh (see entry) in 1922. Illus., Mary Buff Dancing Cloud (Viking Press, 1937) & other juvenile books.
