评论: After his return from France, where he was influenced by Corot and Diaz, Minor became one of the leading American exponents of the Barbizon school. For ten years, he studied and painted landscapes in England, France, Belgium, Germany, and Italy. From 1873-on, he was a familiar figure in the studio buildings of New York"s Washington Square. His softly-rendered landscapes are often filled with the atmosphere of quiet misty mornings and autumnal moods. Much of his work was done in the Adirondacks and around Waterford, CT. 109 of his paintings were auctioned by Am. A. Gal., NYC in 1905 for $35,190.
