1955:Becomes an american citizen.
1920:He and Katherine DREIER founded the Société Anonyme with the goal of forming a collection of modern art ; the collection eventually was given to Yale University in 1941.
1919:Returned to Paris, France but was back in New York NY, USA the following year.
1918:Stopped painting completely but continued to make collages, constructions, casts, sketches, optical machines, and other objects.
1917:Conceived the idea of the readymade, culminating, in his submission of a urinal, signed “R. Mutt”.
1915:Arrived in New York NY, USA and immediately became the center of the Arensberg Circle.
