评论: A painter and breeder of gun dogs. In 1942, he wrote and illustrated the encyclopedic, Dogs, and in 1946, a similar work, Horses. During the 1950s, he produced several other illustrated dog dictionaries. During the 1940s-50s, his game-shooting scenes appeared in Field & Stream. He also painted horses and cattle. In 1931 produced a series of drypoint-aquatints of cock-fighting scenes. He produced a print portfolio, Gun Dogs at Work. He also designed the running greyhound logo for the Greyhound Bus Co. His younger brother, Lawrence, was also an illustrator.
