PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai is Asia Pacific’s leading contemporary art fair dedicated to photography and moving image. The fair offers international galleries, collectors and curators a unique experience in one of Asia’s most dynamic cities.
The fourth edition of the fair will return to the iconic Shanghai Exhibition Center from 8-10 September 2017 and will be supported by Porsche as the fair’s Presenting Partner.
Ambitious, museum-quality presentations throughout the 2017 edition will bring together emerging and established artists who push the boundaries of the photographic medium, and challenge the notion of what photography can be.
Artists presented at the fair will include: Roman Singer (Galerie Stephan Witschi, Zurich); Dashti (Mohsen Gallery, Tehran); Schilte & Portielje (Kahmann Gallery, Amsterdam); Richard Misrach (Robert Mann Gallery, New York); Zhang Hai’er (Blindspot Gallery, Hong Kong); Chen Wei (ShanghART Gallery, Shanghai, Beijing & Singapore) and Yang Yongliang (Matthew Liu Fine Art, Shanghai).
Key highlights of the 2017 PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai include:

Collectors Exhibition - a curated insight into the private acquisitions of powerful art collectors David Chau (Cc Foundation), Adrian Cheng (K11 Art Foundation), Thomas Shao (Modern Media Group), and Jenny Wang (Fosun Foundation).

Staged - a unique and experimental platform that will showcase large-scale works that transcend the boundaries of photography from artists who approach the medium in new ways using installation art, video and performance.

Insights – an exhibition of museum-quality works for private sale tracing the influence of pioneering artists such as William Eggleston and Harry Callahan on the next generation of contemporary artists including Jiang Pengyi, Andrea Good, Shen Wei.
