RETURNS TO CORDOARIA NACIONAL

VISIT ARCOLISBOA 2018
ARCOlisboa 2018, a leading artistic and social event, will return to Lisbon from 17 to 20 May. Focusing on quality content, the Cordoaria Nacional will host 68 participating galleries. The General Programme will consist of 50 galleries selected by the Organisers’ Committee, while the Opening section, will have eight national and international galleries, all in business for at least seven years, selected by Portuguese writer and curator João Laia. This year, for the first time, there will be 10 special projects also selected by the Organisers’ Committee.
Alongside the ARCOlisboa gallery programme there will be independent Portuguese publishers and bookstores in the 'As tables are shelves' space, selected by Luiza Teixeira de Freitas.
Simultaneously, the Torreão Nascente de la Cordoaria will host a programme for reflection and debate on collecting and contemporary art. The forum will bring renowned professionals together, and they will carry out an intensive conference schedule. The line-up of events includes the Collectors’ Forum, coordinated by Isabel Carlos, the Museum Forum, and the 2nd Meeting of European and Ibero-American Museums, directed by Pedro Gadanho. Furthermore, the ´What I am working on´ sessions coordinated by Filipa Oliveira will provide an opportunity for international professionals to share their current and future projects.
This area will feature a selection of contemporary art magazines.
To attract new visitors to the fair and to enable ARCOlisboa to present contemporary art to a wider audience, Silvia Escorcio will take part in this new edition.
