ZⓈONAMACO FOTO AND ZⓈONAMACO SALÓN ARE BACK THIS AUGUST

With a list of international exhibitors and a program of parallel activities, ZⓈONAMACO SALÓN and ZⓈONAMACO FOTO are back from August 22nd to 26th to Centro Citibanamex, Hall D, in Mexico City.

This year, both fairs bring together more than 60 international exhibitors. In addition, ZⓈONAMACO FOTO welcomes a new section of photobooks and ZⓈONAMACO SALÓN expands its offer of exhibitors, with contemporary objects that in their content, production, research or design, maintain a connection with the past.

ZONAMACO FOTO

The fair presents a representative selection of vintage, modern and contemporary photography. During its first four years, ZⓈONAMACO FOTO has expanded the panorama of photography in Mexico, with the support of a selection committee comprised of renowned international gallerists: Patricia Conde (Patricia Conde Galería, Mexico City), Raffaella de Chirico (Raffaella de Chirico Arte Contemporanea, Turin), Henrique Faria (Henrique Faria, New York) and Arturo Delgado (Almanaque, Mexico City); and an advisory committee, composed of Ana Elena Mallet (Independent Curator, Mexico City), Mauricio Maillé (Director of Visual Arts at Fundación Televisa, Mexico City) and Daniel Garza Usabiaga (Independent Curator, Mexico City).

EXHIBITORS

In this edition, the fair welcomes new international galleries, such as Galería PDX Contemporary Art (Oregon) with works by Amjad Faur, Georgina Reskala, Masao Yamamoto and Joe Rudko. Troconi-Letayf (Mexico City) exhibits for the first time with photobooks and works by Adam Wiseman, Dulce Pinzón, Alex Dorfsman and Tatiana Parcero. The fair also includes international exhibitors that have participated in previous editions, such as Arte Globale (London), with a new series by Giovanni Cocco and Kevin Graham. Raffaella De Chirico’s booth (Turin) includes the controversial photographs by Alison Jackson, recreating Donald Trump’s images. RGR + ART (Caracas / Mexico City) returns with Cai Dongdong, Liu Bolin, Alexander Barrios, Ji Zhou and Patrick Hamilton. The proposal of Momentum Fine Art (Miami) brings together works by Maria Svarbova, Floria González, FORMENTO + FORMENTO, Aristotle Roufanis and Ole Marius Joergensen. PHOTOBOOKS

For the first time, the fair presents a PHOTOBOOKS section, as an effort to amplify the impact of photography through new ways of collecting. In its first edition, the selection committee, made up of Ana Casas (La Hydra, Mexico City) and Ramón Reverté (RM, Barcelona / Mexico City), has selected more than a dozen international exhibitors that include new and classic titles from leading exhibitors in the field, such as Aperture Foundation (New York), which stands out for its development of photobooks in the United States; La Hydra (Mexico City), one of the most outstanding platforms for photobook projects in Mexico; Exit (Barcelona), renowned for its editions of contemporary art; and RM (Barcelona / Mexico City), recognized as the most important photography books publisher in Latin America.

CONFERENCE PROGRAM

As every year, the conference program is dedicated to bring together audiences and specialists, through a series of talks in collaboration with Aperture Foundation, La Hydra, Fomento Cultural Banamex A.C., Cultura Colectiva and Tequila 1800, and international guests such as Marcel Feil, artistic director at FOAM Museum (Amsterdam); Alberto Ríos de la Rosa, curator of Casa Wabi (Mexico City / Oaxaca) and the Mexican artist Carlos Iván Hernández.
