“In viaggio” (2021) is a work made by Grazia Maria Regalino for AVHG, in occasion of the first edition of the “Arte In Nuvola” exhibition at the Roma Convention Center. Having experimented abstractionist production for a period, the Salernitan paintress has decided to return to figurative painting, mainly focusing on themes such as psychological introspection and personal emancipation, which are typical characteristics of her artistic portfolio.

For Grazia Maria Regalino, portraiture has always been the instrument through which she chooses to study the world. Her extraordinary technical ability and the detail “engraved” onto the bodies are important features of her painting. Inspiration comes from the dramatic power of Caravaggio’s painting as well as the restless hyperrealism of Dino Valls.

Graduated at “lED” in Rome, the artist started with drawing, then experimented illustration, graphics and subsequently shifted towards painting.
