This wonderful drawing is made on glass and is a little treasure in color, rhythm and story telling. You can see the soft awaking of a dancers head turning brighter from the lower right to the upper left. Klien is the best-known representative of Viennese Kineticism, an avant-garde movement of the early 1920s. "Head of Dancer" is a title of a couple of works by Klien. She was very interested in modern dance of the 20s, and made herself some experiences in this genre. But in general dancing was a very important topic of the Kineticism. Her works from the 20s are very rare on the market, since most of these works where kept by the Wiener Kunstgewerbeschule, where Klien was studying.
